Automating Supply Chain and Forecasting
As a distributing company with a total of 84 franchise locations that support 320 mobile service vans nationwide, a sub-par replenishment system resulted in a poor mix of inventory at the majority of franchise locations, increased transportation costs and an unstable customer satisfaction level. There was no set way for staff to calculate the optimal stock level, and with no set system in place, staff were left with a limited understanding of inventory and forecasting systems.
As a means of gaining visibility and accuracy into stock replenishment levels, DMS Service Level Optimiser was implemented across franchises. Providing an efficient and cost-effective solution, the system is fully automated, can be refreshed daily and can be run at any time of the week or month, giving a much more streamlined view into stock levels. Proving its success in Pirtek’s Australian headquarters, the Service Level Optimiser has also taken over forecasting and planning responsibilities for the South African and New Zealand Offices.
